Horse Tack and Equipment by Color
Color Matters When it Comes to Selecting Horse Tack...
Color plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live. Color can sway thinking, change actions, and cause reactions. It can irritate or soothe your eyes, raise your blood pressure or suppress your appetite. When used in the right ways, color can even save on energy consumption.
As a powerful form of communication, color is irreplaceable. Red means "stop" and green means "go." Traffic lights send this universal message. Likewise, the colors used for a product, web site, business card, or logo cause powerful reactions. Color Matters!
Equestrians take pride in shopping for and caring for their horse tack. Our equipment is important to for logical reasons such as safety and security. But our equipment is also a fun and intregal part of depicting our moods and defining our personalities. For instance, pony horse tack is typically more popular in pastel shades of pinks, purples, baby blues and mint green. Eventing and Cross-Country equipment colors can be founds in electric and vibrant shades of red, bright yellow, orange, royal blue and lime green. Dressage equipment for the show ring is mandated to be neutral shades like black and white. Outside of the show ring, dressage tack is typically more popular in mature color palettes like browns, cream, plum purples, any shade of blue, charoal gray, etc.
Color-coordinating our horse tack, saddle pads, browbands, bell boots, etc is a way for us to further harmonize our passion and love for our sport. Our color preferences are deeply rooted emotional responses which make us feel a certain way and our use of color in our equestrian equipment also allows us to make a statement on who we are and how we feel. What's your equestrian color(s)?
